Actions

Actions is where you work on what monitoring finds. SurfacedBy fills the engagement and outreach queues, writes drafts when you ask for them, and waits for you before anything is published, posted, or sent. After you act, later checks show whether your AI visibility moved (Content Impact).

Tabs

The hub has four tabs, always in this order:

• Content projects. Briefs, drafts, and publishing for pages and LinkedIn posts. See Content Operations. The Brand knowledge page for the domain is reached from this tab.
• Engagement queue. Reddit, X, and LinkedIn conversations worth a reply. See Community Engagement.
• Outreach. Publishers that AI platforms cite for your prompts but that have not cited you. See Publisher Outreach.
• History. Everything completed, posted, or shipped across the three queues.

A tab your plan includes shows a count when items are waiting for you. A tab your plan does not include shows a lock; opening it explains what the queue does and which plan adds it. A queue that is not enabled for your workspace does not appear at all.

Who sees what

By plan. The Actions area is part of every paid plan and the trial. Each queue has its own minimum plan:

Charts, images, and video in content drafts are available wherever content projects are; there is no separate media plan.

By role. Using the queues takes the Editor role or above: creating and generating content, publishing to a connected target, working the engagement and outreach queues, and managing brand knowledge. Viewers do not see Actions in the sidebar. Connecting a publishing target is an Admin task.

Nothing goes out without you

Finding work is automatic. SurfacedBy watches conversations and publishers, scores them, and fills the engagement and outreach queues. Content projects start when you pick an opportunity or a page check to act on. That monitoring does not use credits, so a queue you never touch costs nothing.

Writing starts only when you act on an item: you create a content project, ask for a reply draft, or request a pitch. Each of those is a generation that uses credits.

Nothing leaves SurfacedBy on its own:

• A content project is published only when you click Publish live or Publish draft on it.
• Engagement replies are never posted through a platform's API. You copy the reply, or place it with the browser extension, and submit it yourself.
• Outreach pitches are sent by you. Confirming a send in SurfacedBy records a send you made; it does not send anything.

History

History lists completed, posted, and shipped actions from all three queues, newest first. Each row links back to the item it came from. Published content also shows where it stands on the citation timeline (for example On track or Cited); these outcomes are correlation, not proof that the action caused the change.

History has no plan lock of its own. It appears whenever the Actions area does, and it stays empty until you complete something. Checks you run from Tools keep their own history on the Tools page and are not listed here.

Credits

Credits pay for the drafts and media SurfacedBy writes for you. Everything else in your plan, including monitoring, is included.

What uses credits

• Content briefs, including a new brief when you request changes.
• Content drafts, including the research, writing, and fact-checking steps a draft run goes through, and the extra web research of the Premium quality setting.
• Regenerating a section of a draft, and suggested rewrites of a selected passage.
• Charts, video picks, and AI-generated images in a draft.
• LinkedIn posts.
• Engagement reply drafts and rewrites, and community posts drafted from an article.
• Outreach pitch drafts.
• Finding a verified contact for a publisher, only when you click the button that offers it.

What is free

• Monitoring and scoring conversations, publishers, and prompts, including X and LinkedIn searches.
• Checking outcomes after you act.
• Learning from your edits.
• Publishing attempts and notifications.
• Saving your own edits, accepting or rejecting a suggestion, restoring an earlier version, uploading your own image, adding your own videos when you generate a draft, and clearing a media slot.

A generation that fails or returns nothing usable is not charged. A draft run is charged step by step, so steps that finished before a failure stay charged.

How the price is set

There is no fixed price list for generations. Each one is priced from its actual usage, so a short reply costs less than a long article, and the charge is rounded up to whole credits. Any generation uses at least 1 credit.

A few items have a set price:

A draft run places at most 6 charts and 3 videos, so automatic media adds at most 9 credits to one draft.

If your balance runs out partway through a draft, the run pauses, keeps the work done so far, and the project shows Needs credits until you add more.

Included credits and top-ups

Included credits are granted each billing cycle and are used before purchased credits. Unused included credits do not carry over. The trial has no included credits.

To add more, buy a credit pack. Purchased credits do not expire and share one balance with the Console.

Your balance and the included and purchased split are under Settings > Automation > Credits. The Credits card is shown to workspace owners and admins once your plan includes a queue that writes drafts, so Starter workspaces do not see it. Add credits opens the Console billing page, where you can also set up an email reminder with a top-up link for when your balance runs low. Nothing is charged automatically.
