Actions

Actions is where the things SurfacedBy finds become things you do. Monitoring tells you where AI platforms cite competitors and not you; Actions gives you a drafted, ready-to-approve step for each of those gaps, then watches whether AI visibility moves after you act. The shape is a loop: measure, act, re-measure.

The Actions hub lives at /dashboard/{workspace-slug}/{domain-id}/actions and groups three surfaces plus a History tab.

The three surfaces

• Content operations. Research briefs and drafts for the prompts where you are missing, plus short social posts, published to a connected channel (WordPress or Shopify as a draft, or LinkedIn).
• Community engagement. Drafted replies in the Reddit, X, and LinkedIn conversations that AI platforms cite, where competitors appear and you do not.
• Publisher outreach. Drafted pitches to the third-party sites AI platforms rely on for your prompts but that have never cited you.

Each surface is its own queue. A surface only appears for a domain when your plan unlocks it; until then the hub shows a locked preview that explains what the surface does.

Human in the loop

Nothing goes out without you. Every reply, pitch, and post is drafted automatically, but it waits in a queue for your approval before anything happens. Generation and re-measurement are automated; the approving action is always yours. No content is auto-published, no reply is auto-posted, and no pitch is auto-sent.

A drafted item moves through a small set of states. The system fills the queue and writes the draft; you request a draft, approve it, request changes, or dismiss it. The final approving step is the only point where work leaves SurfacedBy, and that step is always a person clicking approve.

History

The History tab collects completed, posted, and shipped actions across every queue, so you have one place to see what you have already done. It is always available, even on plans that do not unlock the action queues themselves. Until an action completes, History reads as empty because nothing has finished yet, not because the feature is missing.

Plan gating

The three action surfaces require the Professional plan or higher. Content operations, community engagement, and publisher outreach all unlock at Professional. Starter plans see the locked previews and keep full access to monitoring, opportunities, and recommendations. The History tab is never gated.

When a surface is locked, the queue shows what you would get and which plan unlocks it, so you can decide whether the closed loop is worth the upgrade for your domain.

How Actions connects to the rest of SurfacedBy

Actions does not invent work. The drafts come from the same evidence the rest of the dashboard shows: the prompts where you are missing on Opportunities, the third-party sites on Citations, and the competitors on the Competitors page. After you publish or post, the Content Impact loop re-measures whether AI visibility moved and ties the change back to the action you took.
