How accurate is the data?

SurfacedBy sends your tracked Prompts to the AI platforms and stores every answer it receives. When the dashboard says a platform cited or named you, that answer is on record: you can read it, with its sources, on the AI Responses page. AI platforms are non-deterministic, though. The same Prompt asked twice can produce different answers, which is why SurfacedBy reports Brand Coverage across many Prompts and platforms rather than treating any single answer as definitive.

How fresh is the data?

Every plan runs a Full Check each week and a Daily Check on the days in between. The Daily Check reviews a focused set of your Prompts to catch recent movement; the Full Check reviews your complete Prompt and platform set and is the baseline for rank, reports, and competitor comparisons. Dashboard metrics update as checks complete, and open dashboard tabs refresh without a reload. The public API analytics endpoint returns your current results by default: the latest Full Check with any newer Daily Check answers merged in. Pass the scan_id query parameter to read the results as they stood after an earlier check.

Which AI platforms do you cover?

Seven: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Mode, Claude, Grok, and DeepSeek. Starter (and the trial) covers ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity. Professional and Agency add Google AI Mode. Claude, Grok, and DeepSeek are add-ons you can buy on any paid plan. See AI Platforms.

How do the paid plans differ?

• Starter tracks one domain on ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity, with the smallest Prompt limit.
• Professional tracks up to five domains, adds Google AI Mode and a larger Prompt limit, and includes read access to the public REST API.
• Agency tracks up to ten domains with the largest Prompt limit, and adds write access to the API and white-label reports and exports.

Can I try it before paying?

Yes. After you sign up, you can start a 7-day trial from the Plan step of the setup wizard or from the plan picker when your workspace is eligible. The trial requires a card, tracks one domain with Starter limits, and runs your first Full Check plus a Daily Check each day. It converts to the paid plan when it ends unless you cancel first.

Can I choose which Prompts are checked?

Yes. The setup wizard suggests a starting set that you review, and you can add your own. After setup, manage them from Tracked Prompts: pin or unpin Prompts in the Active tab, add new ones, and accept or dismiss the ones listed under Suggested by AI. On Agency you can also add Prompts through the API.

Can I trigger a check on demand?

Not from the dashboard or the Data API: checks run on your plan's schedule. On-demand checks are part of SurfacedBy Console, a separate product paid with prepaid credits. See the Console overview.

Do I own my data? Can I export it?

Yes. Most dashboard pages export CSV (see CSV export), the Reports page sends scheduled reports by email and saves them as PDF, and on Professional and Agency the public API lets you pull your data into your own systems.

What happens if I cancel?

Checks stop when your paid access ends, and they do not restart until you subscribe again. Your domains and their history stay in your workspace, and you can still sign in and view them; features that need a paid plan are locked.
