AI Mentions
Per-platform counts of how often each AI platform cited your domain.
AI Mentions is the raw count of citations your domain received, broken down by AI platform. Where Brand Coverage tells you "what percentage of AI responses cited us", AI Mentions tells you "how often, and on which platform".
Per-platform breakdown
Every scan produces a separate mention count for each AI platform it tested. A Professional or Business account testing all five platforms will see AI Mentions broken out for ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, and AI Mode.
A single Prompt can produce multiple mentions on a single platform if the response cites more than one page on your domain. That is why the total mentions number is usually higher than the number of cited Prompts.
Cross-platform variance
AI platforms disagree more than you would expect. It is common to have strong coverage on one platform and almost none on another, even for the same Prompts. That variance is itself a useful signal: a platform where you are invisible is usually a platform where your content is not well-structured for that platform's retrieval approach, or where a competitor has taken the spot.
Overview, AI Visibility, and Tracked Prompts each plot AI Mentions per platform so you can spot these imbalances quickly.
Why the number shifts between scans
Counts move scan to scan for a few reasons:
- AI platforms update their underlying models, which changes what they cite.
- Daily Monitoring covers a focused subset of cells each day; the Full Benchmark re-tests the complete tracked set.
- Competitors publish new content and take slots.
- Your own site changes, for better or worse.
Trend matters more than any single scan. A single dip of 10% is noise; the same drop sustained across three consecutive Full Benchmarks is a signal.
