MCP Server

Connect your own AI tools to your SurfacedBy visibility data on the Professional plan and up.

Ask an AI:Open in ChatGPTOpen in Claude

The SurfacedBy MCP server lets you connect your own AI tools to your visibility data. An MCP-compatible client, such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Cursor, can read your scores, citations, competitors, opportunities, and reports directly, so you can ask questions about your AI visibility without leaving the tool you already work in.

The MCP server is available on the Professional plan and up. On the Agency plan you can also grant a connection a small set of reversible management actions.

What a connection can do

By default a connection reads. The read tools cover the same ground as the dashboard: workspace summaries and the cross-domain attention queue, per-domain overviews and scan freshness, visibility and competitors and citations, source gaps and opportunities, plan status, reports, and the content, engagement, and outreach queues.

On the Agency plan you can additionally grant management tools that change what a brand tracks and the work on its plan: accept or dismiss AI prompt suggestions, pin a prompt, track or stop tracking a competitor, and add an opportunity to the plan or dismiss it. Every one of these is reversible and you choose, per connection, whether to grant them.

Whatever you grant, a connection can never post or publish anything externally, send outreach, write the prompts your brand is checked against, spend credits, trigger a check, or read another user's data.

Respects your plan

The MCP server honors the same plan gating as the dashboard. The server requires the Professional plan; the management tools require the Agency plan, enforced on our servers both when a connection is created and on every call. Where a surface is gated by your plan, the corresponding tool returns the same limited form a non-entitled user sees in the dashboard, and full evidence detail stays in the dashboard. Connecting an AI tool does not unlock data your plan does not include.

Managed by workspace admins

MCP connections are created and managed by workspace admins or higher, under Settings -> Integrations. Creating a connection mints an API key that is shown once. You paste that key into your AI client's configuration to connect it. The key is the credential; treat it like any other secret.

A connection belongs to one workspace and can be limited to specific domains within that workspace. Admins can revoke a connection at any time, after which the key stops working. Connection create and revoke are the only lifecycle events; using the tools does not generate notifications.

What you can ask

Once connected, you can ask your AI tool to read and reason over your live data, for example:

  • "What is my Visibility Score and how did it move on my main domain?"
  • "Which competitors are picking up citations I am missing?"
  • "What are my top opportunities right now?"
  • "Summarize the latest report for this brand."

The AI tool answers from your real SurfacedBy data, in the tool you are already using.
